Technically speaking a Mushroom is the Fruiting Body of the entire fungal organism (basidiomycetes). Basidiomycetes also have a vegetative part called mycelium that grows on/into the ground to gather nutrients for the organism similar to roots for a plant. Mass market products are often labeled as “Mushrooms” when in reality they are just ground up mycelium. The majority of the beneficial compounds are found in the Mushroom/Fruiting Body part of the organism - not in the mycelium/vegetative state. This is why our products contain 100% Fruiting Bodies.  

Simply put, the dried mushrooms are extracted twice - first with hot water and then with ethanol. This insures that all beneficial compounds are extracted from the Mushroom. These extracts are spray-dried to deliver a concentrated mushroom powder extract found in the end product. Extracts are superior to just dried mushrooms because they break down the indigestible fungal cell wall. This otherwise would prevent many of the interior, beneficial compounds from being absorbed.

They modulate how your body responds to a number of different stressors. For example, they can increase the number of macrophages, NK cells, and certain T-cells to enhance your immune response.[12] Our mushroom extracts have lab-verified amounts of beta-glucans.
